Pondicherry (Puducherry) is a former French colonial territory on the Coromandel Coast, with a distinctive blend of Tamil and French cultures. The French Quarter (Ville Blanche) features mustard-yellow colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards, boulangeries, and the Promenade Beach along the Bay of Bengal.
